Will on Wheels: ACT's Romeo and Juliet
Romeo and Juliet set in the 1980's - switch blades, bright colors, and jean jackets. This shortened piece directed by Michael Wayne Rice will be touring schools with the ACT's MFA2 students. These athletic actors breath life into one of my favorite Shakespeare pieces. I will say - the fights we worked on for this show are some of my favorite pieces of choreography I've ever come up with - and it's because of the fervor and intention these students have brought to the piece. They brought these characters to life with who they are - not trying to be a character, but vehemently bringing themselves to the piece. It's beautiful, funny, and moving - Bay Area schools are in for a real treat.
