Slapstick in Black Comedy at Douglas Morrisson Theatre

I am thrilled to join Douglas Morrisson Theatre again for this silly piece involving some of my favorite Bay Area actors! This show is unlike most fight direction I have been a part of... it is mainly the actor's fighting with the set as the majority of the show happens in the dark. The most exciting thing was getting to stage a stair fall with the fabulous Alan Coyne. Don't miss this uproarious comedy that is a feat for the actors!

BLACK COMEDY

February 20 - March 8, 2020

By Peter Shaffer, Directed by John Maio

Brindsley Miller is a lovesick and desperate sculptor. In the hopes to impress his fiancee's pompous father and a wealthy art dealer, Brindsley embellishes his apartment with furniture and objets d’art “borrowed” from the absent antique collector next-door. Suddenly, a fuse is blown, and the fussy neighbor returns home earlier than planned. Frantic attempts to return the items ensue, as unexpected guests, errant phone cords, and other snares get in the way of getting everything back before the light is restored.
